3 Ways to Make Side Hustle Income

I’ve always thought about how I can make some side hustle money.

As a preface, I don’t believe “easy money” exists outside of inheritance or anything of that nature where money is handed to you from someone in your family who is wealthy.

Making money is not easy — I think there’s something invaluable about having learned that lesson when I started working when I was 5 at my aunt’s ice cream shop making $2/hour.

However, money does come more “easily” as you build your knowledge and skills and learn how to grow wealth without as much effort. What I mean by that is — you could make $60/hour learning how to program and working for a company like Cisco over spending 6 hours at a Fast Food job making $10/hour.

That being said, don’t ever think you’re too good for a Fast Food job either. Work ethic is just as important as knowledge and knowledge is easier to build if you’re not swimming in debt.

Here are some practical ways to make money “easily”:

  1. Can’t find a job? Drive for Uber. When I was in between jobs and had some extra time, I drove for both Uber & Lyft. I made about $20/hour on average before taxes/expenses. This was one of those jobs that one should never think they’re “too good” for. While I made less Ubering than my first job out of college, I made money quickly and with much flexibility. 2. If you have extra money, invest and learn about investments. Only invest in money you’re okay with not needing for 6 months or more. As volatile as it has been, it’s actually helped increase my net income considerably this past year.
  3. Blogging/Build Web Properties — I think Neil Patel does an excellent job teaching how to making Passive income through blogging and building content

While it takes more time and learning to build any kind of substantial income, I think it’s easily worth the time investment just to learn how to build traffic and monetize through blogs.

4. Start a Business

I don’t know if you can consider this “easy” but starting a business can be one of the biggest rewards for your time investment. Whether or not you make money from it, you’ll learn A LOT along the way. I’ve started over a dozen companies, a lot of them failed but you only need a few to succeed to reap great benefits from it.

As the saying goes, “money doesn’t grow on trees” — I think it’s true as you get into the grit of working hard, failing, and overcoming various obstacles. But it’s through growth and learning, I hope making money becomes “easier” so you get to enjoy more of other things more important than money. While money is important, there are other things much more important in life.
